Brown Oak BO03 — 1469x140x18mm
Détails du produit
Brown Oak (Quercus robur / Quercus petraea)
Brown Oak is European Oak transformed by nature — the rich, warm chocolate-brown tones are caused by the beef steak fungus (Fistulina hepatica), which colonises the heartwood of living Oak trees and produces a chemical reaction that stains the timber a deep, lustrous brown without compromising its structural integrity. The result is one of the most sought-after and visually striking of all British hardwoods — all the strength and character of Oak, with a depth of colour that is entirely unique.
No two pieces of Brown Oak are alike. The colour can range from warm golden-brown through to deep chocolate and near-black, often with subtle figuring and the characteristic ray fleck of Oak running through it. It finishes beautifully with oils and waxes, deepening and enriching with age.
